The short answer
Termini's only in-station storage, the KiPoint desk, is not the cheapest or the fastest way to leave a bag near the station. Two private locker operators sit a minute's walk outside, both undercutting or matching KiPoint on price with far less queueing. A handful of app-based networks — Bounce, Nannybag, Stasher and Radical Storage — cover the rest of the neighbourhood on a flat day-rate, each backed by a loss and damage guarantee the station desk doesn't publish.
Finding the KiPoint desk
KiPoint (branded KiBag) is reached from the Via Giolitti side of the station, at platform level near platform 24, between the COIN department store and the Sixt car rental counter. It's a staffed walk-up desk, not a coin locker bank — you turn up with the bag rather than reserving online. Its own booking site and the rail operator RFI both currently list opening hours as 07:00 to 21:00 daily. Several independent guides still quote 06:00 to 23:00, a full two hours longer at each end; that gap suggests the hours were tightened recently and not every guide has caught up, so it's worth checking the desk itself before planning around either figure.
What it costs
The pricing most often quoted for KiPoint is €6 flat for the first five hours, then €1 per hour up to the twelfth hour, then €0.50 an hour after that. One older breakdown gives a noticeably lower scale — roughly €3.80 for the first five hours — which suggests rates have risen since it was written, and a comparison site puts Stasher's from-€1.49-a-day rate well under KiPoint's five-hour minimum. Treat any single number as a starting point rather than a guarantee.
The one-minute lockers
Two private operators sit closer to the platforms than KiPoint itself. StowYourBags runs a locker room at Via Filippo Turati 52, about a minute from the station's Via Giolitti exit, open 07:00 to 23:00, charging per locker rather than per bag — a Small starts at €9.99 for a full day, rising to €20.99 for the largest Maxi size. A separate automatic-locker operator at Via Marsala 86, also about a minute away, advertises video-monitored lockers from €4 in four sizes, open 05:00 to 23:00, with a staffed attendant on site only between 09:30 and 14:30. Neither covers the station's full 04:30–01:30 opening window, and outside attendant hours the Via Marsala lockers run unstaffed.
The app-based networks
Bounce lists several partner shops and hotels within three to eight minutes of Termini, from €3.50 a day, including a retail store on Via Gioberti that says it can take up to 300 bags a day and a hotel partner on Via Magenta open 24 hours. Nannybag lists 14 locations near Termini from €2.50 a day for small items and €4.90 for a full suitcase. Stasher covers Rome through more than 200 partner locations, several of them around Termini, quoting rates from €1.49 a day and a self-reported customer score it places well above both rival apps and station-desk facilities generally. All three back their storage with a loss, theft or damage guarantee — €10,000 for Bounce and Nannybag, €12,000 for Stasher — a figure the in-station desk doesn't publish at all.
Booking with Radical Storage
Radical Storage's Termini network runs on partner hotels and shops along streets including Via Marsala, Via Milazzo, Via Giolitti, Via Principe Amedeo, Via Giovanni Amendola and Piazza dei Cinquecento — the square Termini's main entrance opens onto. Every listing charges a flat €3.90 per bag per day with no size or weight limit, plus a fixed €1.99 booking fee added at checkout that covers a €10,000 damage, theft or loss guarantee and 24-hour support. Two of its Termini listings are independently rated 4.8 out of 5, one from 208 reviews and open 07:00–23:30, the other from 242 reviews and open 08:00–22:00. Worth saying plainly: once the booking fee is added, Radical Storage isn't the cheapest option on this list — Stasher, Nannybag and Bounce all quote lower from-prices, and the two one-minute lockers can undercut it too for a single small bag. What it buys instead is no size cap, a published guarantee, and a bookable slot rather than a walk-up gamble.
Overnight and early trains
Termini itself runs from roughly 04:30 to 01:30, closing overnight for cleaning and security. None of the storage options above cover that full window: KiPoint's own listed hours are 07:00–21:00, StowYourBags runs to 23:00, and the Via Marsala automatic lockers close at 23:00 with attendant cover only mid-morning. Anyone on a genuinely overnight gap — a late arrival and a dawn departure — should plan around a hotel that will hold the bag rather than assume a locker will be open when the train is.
